I woke up in darkness surrounded by silence
Oh where, where have I gone?
I woke to reality losing its grip on me Oh where, where have I gone?
'Cause I can see the light before I see the sunrise
You called and You shouted
Broke through my deafness
Now I’m breathing in and breathing out
I’m alive again
You shattered my darkness
Washed away my blindness
Now I’m breathing in and breathing out
I’m alive again
Late have I loved You
You waited for me I searched for You
What took me so long?
I was looking outside
As if love would ever want to hide
I’m finding I was wrong
'Cause I could feel the wind before it hits my skin
You called and You shouted
Broke through my deafness
Now I’m breathing in and breathing out
I’m alive again
You shattered my darkness
Washed away my blindness
Now I’m breathing in and breathing out
I’m alive again, I’m alive again
'Cause I want You, yes, I want You, I need You
And I’ll do whatever I have to just to get through
'Cause I love You, yeah, I love You
You called and You shouted
Broke through my deafness
Now I’m breathing in and breathing out
I’m alive again
You shattered my darkness
Washed away my blindness
Now I’m breathing in and breathing out
I’m alive again
“As for you, you were dead in your transgressions & sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world & of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature & following its desires & thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of His great love for us, God, Who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions— it is by grace you have been saved. — Eph. 2:1-5
Still one of the deepest insights to Christ’s love for us...from our first hesitant steps in our walk with God, to our last breath...He has made us “Alive again!!”
Late have I loved you,
Beauty so old and so new:
Late have I loved you.
And see, you were within
And I was within the external world
And sought you there,
And in my unlovely state
I plunged into those lovely created things
which you made
The lovely things kept me far from you
Though if they did not have their existence in you
They had no existence at all.
You called and cried out loud
And shattered my deafness
You were radiant and resplendent,
You put to flight my blindness.
You were fragrant,
And I drew in my breath and now pant after you.
I tasted you,
And I feel but hunger and thirst for you.
You touched me,
And I am set on fire to attain the peace which is yours.- St. Augustine
I Thank you Lord my God, for being there for me, no matter what happens, you were and always will be, there for me! Hallelujah, thank you for making me Alive Again!
