scott joplin was a real king on the piano im learning to play afew of his compositions at the moment i could listen to scotts work all day ragtime is 1 style of music i grew up listening to from the age of4 and i still adore his piano playing besides what piano player does any1 know thats better than scott joplin in my eyes there isnt any xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If you like Joplin on the piano. Try it on a harpsichord, this waltz for example .

A great waltz. Better  as the waltzes  from Johann Strauß.

I think it has the same chord changes as "Please Say You Will"

Scott joplin is up there with bach and mozart. He was def a genius to write music like this. So far i have the entertainer, solace, bethena and half of maple leaf rag memorized. I just found this one a few days ago. I cant stop listening to it.

yes joplin is a god. discovered it at age 21, now ive listened to this more then led zepplin, which was my first love. this is my new favourite artist, and to zimmerman for giving it a facelift for our generation.

I think the main thing that kept Joplin back was the fact he was black. The formal musical establishment of that period just refused to accept him.
